2005 Kia Sedona Water Pump Replacement
Are you experience shortage of water or your car temperature rises up quickly, i will teach you how to change a water pump on a 2005 kia sedona xl, just follow the instructions and read carefully.
Allow the engine to cool, then jack the front right side and remove the tire.
Support the engine with garage jack or special tool, and then remove the engine mounting insulator.
Remove the drive belt (adjust the “drive belt tensioner,” down).
Remove the timing belt cover (lower and upper).
Remove the idler pulley, crankshaft pulley, power steering pulley and tensioner pulley.
Rotate the crankshaft clockwise and align the timing mark to get the No. 1 cylinder’s piston be in TDC position. Check the image below:
Then remove the timing belt, (check if the belt has any crack change it). Learn More
Lose the bolts that surround the water pump (spanner size: #12).
Install the new water pump (put the gasket and rub it gum).
Installing the timing belt back, exert the reverse-directed force to the right bank exhaust camshaft sprocket to give tension on the belt.
After installing the timing belt, exert the reverse-directed force to the right bank exhaust camshaft sprocket to give tension on the belt.
Holding this state, recheck if each timing mark is correctly positioned. (Make sure to position of No.1 cylinder to compression TDC).
Be careful so that you won’t injured your fingers or other bodily part, most especially with the right bank.
With tensioner pulley slightly pushing the belt down, tighten the center bolts lightly.
As each camshaft sprocket tends to rotate by itself,
In case the right bank camshaft sprocket rotates excessively, be cautious not to rotate more than the initial stable position.
